George Burt and Susan Alcorn

Two guitarists whose deconstruction of their instrument (pedal steel and electric guitar respectively) belies a mixture of exasperation and profound respect for the jazz and country musics that nurtured them. Alcorn’s work is marked by a purity of line and a keen sense of sonic weight while Burt is an anarchist of sound whose hands dance him through a central belt poetics all his own.
